The opportunity to worship and receive God’s Word
Worship is where our Lord speaks and we listen. Faith that is born from what is heard, acknowledges the gifts received with eager thankfulness and praise. The rhythm of our worship is from God to us, and then from us back to God.
In the Word and water of Holy Baptism, in Holy Absolution, and in the real presence of our Lord’s Body and Blood in Holy Communion, God distributes His awesome love and forgiveness.
The Divine Service of worship is therefore the highest and most essential ongoing activity of every Christian’s Life. We come not under command or compulsion, but out of sincere hunger and thirst.
